How it all started…
The roots of Denver Dongsan Church trace back to the journey of Pastor Seung Seuh, whose encounter with Christ in South Korea sparked the beginnings of this ministry. Years later, he and his family relocated to San Diego, where their church flourished. Yet, sensing God’s call to Colorado, they obediently moved to Denver. On January 1, 1979, Denver Dongsan Church was founded by six families united in prayer. By September 1982, the church became self-sustaining. In April 1984, a significant milestone was reached as the current church building was acquired, and the sanctuary erected.
Expanding the vision…
As we transitioned into construction, Denver Dongsan Church completed the pastor’s house, educational building, and Mission Center. Affiliating with the Southern Baptist Convention further strengthened our commitment to spreading the Gospel. Over the past decades, our congregation has evolved into a vibrant, multi-ethnic community, reflecting God’s heart for all nations. As disciples of Jesus, we actively serve our community with Christ’s love. We emphasize preparing and commissioning future missionaries.
Where we are headed…
Denver Dongsan is still very much alive and on our steadfast mission: to exalt Jesus, to love Jesus, and to bring glory to God. We aspire to please God by embracing diversity, nurturing discipleship, and spreading hope worldwide. Denver Dongsan Church invites you to become part of our story, from humble beginnings to a thriving community of faith. Guided by a rich history of obedience and prayer, we serve and worship with unwavering faith and commitment.
